Carrara marble becomes part of Italy’s heritage identity assets
The recognition presented at the Mic (Ministry of Culture) in Rome, by the president of the General States of Italian Heritage, Ivan Drogo Inglese, to the Marble Foundation as the representative and promoter of Carrara’s stone material.
It is a great success achieved by the Marble Foundation, which together with Confindustria Carrara has worked to make marble get this important recognition, the role it deserves: Carrara marble is not just any stone but a symbol of Italian art, architecture, history and culture, the material that has most made our country’s art famous in the world,
As Marble Foundation Vice President Matteo Venturi explains
Identity assets must identify Italy in the international arena, represent a job and employment opportunity for the younger generation, and represent a development asset for the national economy. Carrara marble has all these characteristics. The goal is to enhance and promote it more and more, including internationally.
Occasions like these make us proud of our identity and our cultural history and help to give visibility and create connections for the promotion of our territory
