Competition 2021: New Ideas for Carrara and its Marble

The “CARRARA 2030” is an association that set up with the aim of promoting and enhancing the research and production activity of the entrepreneurial realities of  the Apuo-Versiliese stone sector and of the marble from the Apuan district, in Italy and in the world. In particular, this association, promotes various initiatives for the dissemination of the culture of marble research and cultivation activities, of the mineral resources of the Apuo-Versiliese district and of their production in a sustainable way for the environment and also deals with conveying qualified information through communication programs towards institutional interlocutors, civil society and the media, fighting disinformation and the dissemination of false news.

 In this period, the association promotes  the international competition of ideas for new technologies to enhance marble products in a sustainable way, called “New Ideas for Carrara and its Marble”. The Competition promotes a new philosophy to improve the area of Carrara and its resources, which places the human person, the environment and its history at the centers, in a context of sustainable and supportive growth. The association also considers important values: safety of their workplace, environmental protection and recovery and the entire cycle of the extracted materials. 

This Competition is for aspiring entrepreneurs who undertake to establish their future new innovative entrepreneurial activity in the Province of Massa- Carrara; new entrepreneurs who have already started an entrepreneurial activity in the Province of Massa Carrara and established no more than 24 months before the date of publication of this announcement; research centers and university spin-offs, which undertake to establish their future new innovative entrepreneurial activity in the Province of Massa Carrara. 

Those who wish to participate must register by filling out the form, then present their innovative business ideas through a summary document (it must  sent by 31 December 2021) and subsequently a business plan, drawn up according to the procedures indicated in the Rules, present on the previously mentioned site.

The competition is divided into two phases, a final goal (the award ceremony), and an introduction to lenders and companies in the marble sector aimed at creating qualified partnerships for the development of projects.
